The Southern Junction Steak House in Royce City, TX welcomes to the stage the Alan Jackson tribute band Gone Country Saturday September 2, 2023 for a night of Alan Jackson hits that have touched the hearts of country music fans worldwide. Gone Country is new to the tribute band scene that has blossomed in the North Texas entertainment industry and this will be their debut performance at the Southern Junction. Gone Country consist of local musicians that have been in the business for over 20 years and are very seasoned in the true sound of country music that Alan Jackson has produced for his fans over the years.
The lineup of musicians includes the band's co-founder and lead guitar player/backup vocalist David Simpson, who brought the idea to Scott Jones in late 2019 right before Covid put a damper on the project until mid 2022. David's chicken pickin' guitar licks are true to the likes of Brent Mason. Scott is the "face and voice" of the band. With his crisp baritone vocals, 6"3' physique and acoustic guitar fans have said he captures the country legends voice and style like none they have seen. Keyboard player and backup singer Trey Pope has an impressive background playing and performing for many years in the DFW area. David Alexander brings his talent from southern Oklahoma with his signature sound on the Lap Steel, Pedal Steel and Dobro. Kevin Freeman keeps his fiddle smoking, while Jeff Wallace and Rex Johnson keep the rhythm section thumping on bass and drums. Carol Jones rounds out the band with additional backup vocals.
The band's debut performance was in 2022 at Harvest Hall in Grapevine, TX. Since then, they have played at venues around DFW and Houston, and will be coming to a honky tonk or festival near you in the coming months.
